If there is anyone in New York State that deserves the death penalty it is Mark Christie. This guy is a total sociopath who has, far as I know, 2 murders on his hands and probably more. What really sucks is that this guy is only 39 years old so he will be getting his room and board paid for by the taxpayers of this state for a good long time. He just plead guilty to the killing of an old lady today, a crime he committed when he was 16. It was a crime where some poor innocent sap got railroaded, forced into a confession, and spent 18 years in prison for the crime this bastard committed. He was a suspect for that crime when it was committed but the police did not want to really look at the evidence because they thought they had their man and boy were they wrong. It turns out that Kailie Poulton paid for the police's rush to judgment when she was killed by Christie eighteen years ago. She was only four years old at the time. Again, suspicion was not on Christie but was focused on her dad. Boy were the police wrong again. That poor man suffered the indignation of losing his daughter and being suspected of her death all the while Mark Christie was still free. How Christie was able to deflect suspicion off himself was amazing when evidence pointed towards his guilt. But somehow, despite the police's bumbling, he was finally caught and convicted.
I do not want my tax dollars paying for this jerk's jailtime. I want this creep executed but alas that will not happen bacause the court has ruled that New York State's version of the death penalty as unconstitutional. It is not like he has a chance to be reformed and return to the community. This guy will never see the outside of prison walls again and he deserves more than that. He deserves to sit on Old Sparky and have it turned all the way up to deep fry. I would even volunteer to pay for the juice used during the deep frying if only we could do that here in New York.
Well that is my rant for tonight as it just pains me to see that this guy will be fed and housed for the rest of his life on our dime.
